Studio—Manuel—Inacker
A director, writer, and producer with German-Croatian roots, Manuel Inacker's films are drawn to stories of longing and personal transformation — restless characters navigating displacement, belonging, and a yearning for connection.
For him, filmmaking is listening to life. Rooted in the countryside but based in Berlin, he draws from the tension of these environments to explore themes of coming-of-age, the individual versus the collective, and the land.
Beyond cinema, he regularly develops and directs prime time TV series for ARD, ZDF, and Arte — including Arte Regards, Tracks East, and Unhappy. His work has won numerous awards and been invited to the world's most prestigious film festivals and art institutions, including Berlinale, IDFA, and Performa New York.
